All characters from previous seasons dead or alive, good or bad can be collected and unlocked for use. Territory mode is more of a freeplay experience that exists outside of cannon. For players who prefer to tell their own stories, there’s the new Territory Mode. Players will be able to watch the plot of all three seasons unfold from three different perspectives each represented by their own thread on a timeline. In order to accommodate all the new content from season 3, Story Mode has been given a full makeover. I had a chance to join the ranks of the Survey Corps and take a PS4 build of the game for a spin ahead of launch. Not only does it add new story content and characters from season 3 of the anime series, but it also overhauls the combat system in dramatic ways along with a new mode of play. Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle may be an expansion of last year’s action-packed release, but there’s almost enough new content to make it a full-fledged sequel in its own right.
